What this website is

This site is a product knowledge base rather than a marketing page. It is organised around the problems people actually have — a disk that is full, files that are duplicated, applications that will not go away — and each problem routes to the guide that resolves it and the feature that does the work.

Two consequences are worth knowing about:

  • Statements are separated from claims. Product facts are published as plain statements and are the same on every page. They come from a single source of truth, so the product is never described two different ways.
  • Every claim names its source. Product facts are checked against the application itself — its build configuration, privacy policy, privacy manifest and review notes — and each one records what it was verified against. Nothing is published on the strength of being plausible.
  • Competitor claims are marked, not assumed. On comparison pages, each capability is either documented with a link to the vendor's own material or explicitly left unverified. The two are never mixed.

How the content is maintained

  • Written by the Neatwise team. Every content page carries an author and a last-updated date.
  • Updated in place. Guides are not dated blog posts. When macOS changes, the affected guide is revised and its date moves; the URL stays the same so references to it do not break.
  • Dated where it matters. Comparison pages carry the date their competitor information was last verified, and link to the sources used.
